Rev. Leroy Dukes is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina.  After graduating from the New Hanover School system, Rev. Dukes attended Harris Barber College in Raleigh, North Carolina.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served in Vietnam for 13 months.

Throughout the years, Rev. Dukes continued his education at St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh, NC, Troutman’s Beauty College in Wilmington, NC and North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, NC. 

Rev. Dukes was employed for 25 years by the New Hanover county board of education as a teacher and retired in 2003.

Rev. Dukes was a member of Gregory Congregational United Church of Christ in Wilmington, NC where he served as an Adult Sunday School teacher and Chairman of the Deacon Board. In 2003 Rev. Dukes enrolled in the Southern Conference Pastoral Leader Development Program (PLD) and attended Lancaster Theological Seminary. Rev. Dukes went on to graduate in 2006.

Rev. Dukes preached his initial sermon and was licensed in 2000.  He was ordained in 2006 and presently serves on the ENCA Board of Directors.
In 2006, Rev. Dukes became Pastor of Galilee United Church of Christ, where he was pastor for four years.

Rev. Dukes is married to Mrs. Roline Dukes and they have three adult children, three wonderful grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
