Rev. Linda Perry

Rev. Linda Perry was born and raised in Franklinton, NC where she attended both elementary and high school.   After graduating from Franklinton High School in 1991, Rev. Perry continued her education at the University of North Carolina Greensboro where she majored in Nursing.    Although Rev. Perry is a nurse by trade, she enlisted in the Army of the Lord at an early age and has been working ever since.

In 2010, Rev. Perry was appointed Associate Pastor at Pope’s Chapel United Church of Christ and in February 2011 was officially licensed by the Eastern North Carolina Association, Southern Conference UCC.

With a love for glorifying God through music, Rev. Perry sings with the Pope’s Chapel Gospel Choir. The youth at Pope’s Chapel and in the community have a special place in Rev. Perry’s heart; she has worked with the Youth Department for several years and continues to be a member of the Youth Committee.

Rev. Perry is the daughter of Deacon Ollie Perry and Deaconess Mary Perry.   She herself has a beautiful daughter (Bryanna) that is truly a gift from God. To quote Rev. Perry: “I have been through some tough times these last few years, but it was during these times that God chose to call me into the ministry. I officially accepted the call into the ministry in October 2008.   This mission that I have embarked upon is not about me, but is about the man, Jesus Christ, who sent me. I am grateful that God saw fit to use me as a vessel to help spread His word.“

One of Rev. Perry’s favorite scriptures exemplifies her Christian journey:  Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
